In accordance with Article 22(4) of the Ombudsman Act, I am sending you a copy of the correspondence and the Final Opinion in which I recommended that the Minister for Justice and Reform of the Construction Sector add the Malta Chamber of Geologists as a member of the Building and Construction Consultative Council.

The Ministry responded that it is still premature to implement this recommendation after the Council did not show support for the same proposal.

While the Minister does not need any support from the Council as clearly explained in the same Final Opinion, I draw your attention to the fact that both the industry and the general public - particularly the neighbours - cannot afford to wait any longer for this much-needed change to be made.
