The Malta Chamber of Geologists is affiliated with the a number of national and international bodies.
European Geosciences Union (EGU)
The Malta Chamber of Geologists forms part of the network of EGU National Geoscientific Societies. The EGU is Europe’s premier geosciences union, dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the Earth, planetary, and space sciences for the benefit of humanity, worldwide.
European Committee for Standardization (CEN)
The Malta Chamber of Geologists participates in CEN Technical Committees on aggregates and geotechnical testing.
Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA)
The Malta Chamber of Geologists participates in National Committees involving geomaterials, construction waste and engineering geology administered by the MCCAA (Standards Authority of Malta)
Commission for Voluntary Organisations (OCVO)
The Malta Chamber of Geologists is registered as a professional association with the Commission for Voluntary Organisations. VO No. 2329
Mediterranean Geosciences Union (MedGU)
The Malta Chamber of Geologists is an associated society with the MedGU which aims to create a unique federation that brings together and represents the Mediterranean geoscience community specializing in the areas of Earth, planetary and space sciences.
MCG President Dr Peter Gatt is a MedGU ambassador.
European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA)
The Malta Chamber of Geologists is a member of ERMA, a network that brings together organisations from the public and private sectors covering the entire raw materials value chain. European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA) Network
International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS)
The MCG has applied to join the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS).
IUGS promotes and encourages the study of geological problems, especially those of world-wide significance, and supports and facilitates international and interdisciplinary cooperation in the Earth sciences. It encourages international co-operation and participation in the Earth sciences in relation to human welfare and is a member of the nternational Science Council (ISC).
